Thread the mounting bolts back in by hand and then tighten them down with the socket set. Set the old starter off to the side and hold the replacement starter in position. Do not let the starter rest on the loose bolts at any time during this process. Support the body of the starter with one hand while you remove the two starter-mounting bolts with the socket set using your other hand. Make sure the jack stand is under the right front frame, but does not impede your access to the starter.Ĭlimb under the Ranger with the socket set and unbolt the starter wiring using the socket set.
Lift the right front end of the Ranger with the floor jack and then lower it onto the jack stand.
